MIRRORING GARDENS - In this large-scale and modular wall installation in copper the artist Federico Gori creates engravings on sheets of copper, letting his thick web of signs increasingly penetrate and meld with the underlying image. In “Mirroring Gardens” each plate presents a different Mediterranean herb, creating a subtle and sophisticated botanical garden, a celebration of Italian plant heritage and culinary culture. The liquid and sinuous line of the enamel fragments of the plant world unravels a myriad of perspectives and new balances between figurative and abstract representation.
